Today we celebrated International Social-Emotional Learning Day (SEL). Students in all grades participated. The day started with our Art Teacher, Mrs. Clossey, ringing the singing bowl and conducting breathing and yoga exercises. Below are some students from Mrs. Podolanczuk and Ms. Sampedro's Grade 3 class in front of the Bee Kind! wall. Each class completed a "honeycomb" showing how to be kind to others and ourselves. Read Across America Week
Read Across America Day (March 2nd) is actually celebrated all week at Washington School. Guest readers included Board of Education Trustee, Ms. Diane Jones, and Rutherford Police Officers Inglese and Kilroe. The RHS Drama Club presented excerpts of their play, Matilda. Students, parents, and teachers had the opportunity to pick out new books at the PTA-sponsored Scholastic Book Fair. Each day the students recited the Read Across America Reader's Oath.
