On Tuesday, October 3, students at Washington School participated in the annual "Hoops & Goals" fundraiser to benefit Alex's Superhero Fund, Inc. and the Andrew Ortega Foundation. Alex's Superhero Fund, Inc., is a foundation committed to providing financial assistance to local families who are caring for children with cancer and other terminal illnesses The fund also supports the Tomorrow's Children Institute. Washington School Celebrated “Week of Respect”
This week, the students of Washington School have been celebrating the Week of Respect. Pictured here are the 2nd grade students of Mrs. Podolanczuk's class. The students listened to a story called "Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun" and learned the importance of respecting themselves. Week of Respect – October 2 – 6 ~ School Violence Awareness Week – October 16 – 20
October 2-6 is designated as a Week of Respect in New Jersey schools. At Washington School, students and staff will focus on a different area of respect each day including respect for others, self, diversity, school and the environment. During School Violence Awareness Week, schedules for October 16-20, we will focus on positive social behaviors and self-esteem.
