Over the years, Read Across American Day has become Read Across America "Week" at Washington School. Students and parents had the opportunity to shop for their favorite books at the PTA sponsored Scholastic Book Fair. The students enjoyed visits from Board of Education Trustee, Ms. Diane Jones and Officer Brian Caughey from the Rutherford Police Department. Novel Study – “Stone Fox”
Students in Ms. Hetzel and Mrs. Podolanczuk's 3rd grade class recently completed a novel study centering on the book Stone Fox, by John Reynolds Gardiner. Students worked in pairs to design a mural depicting an event from each chapter and wrote a brief summary of their chapter to accompany each work of art.
