Rutherford High School is proud to announce that music students Jeannille Ettinoffe, Danny Fencik, and Angelica Rodriguez have been selected for next year's All-State Choir. Over 700 students from throughout New Jersey auditioned, so this is a tremendous accomplishment. In addition, Angelica and Jeannille both ranked 14th in their respective voice parts out of over 100 students and Danny ranked 4th in the state for Tenor I! RHS School Newspaper Back Issues Are Digitized
In 2019, the R-Hi (the Rutherford High School newspaper) went online at RHSNews.org. Now, back issues from the past 60 years have been digitized. The R-Hi Archives has been a year-long project, and we are happy to announce it is finally published. Jeimmy Garita (‘24) volunteered to scan each and every R-Hi newspaper that we have on hand. RHS PTSA Reflections Literature, Art and Music Contest Winners
Back in November, we shared the winners of the PTA Reflections art, music and literature contest that took top prizes in Bergen County and moved on to the state contest. RHS Book Club
The RHS Book Club, led by librarian Mrs. Sherrianne Herninko, met this month to discuss the historical fiction novel I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys. The students discussed the character motivations of the fictional main character of Cristian as he comes of age during the Romanian Revolution of 1989. Students combined their knowledge of history along with their passion of reading to dissect and analyze the ways in with the author created an authentic reading experience. Foods Classes – Dessert Unit
During the last two weeks, our Foods classes have been concluding their dessert unit with pies and beginning their egg unit with homemade pudding pies. The students learned a new technique called tempering. This allows the eggs to be added to a hot liquid in a controlled environment to prevent them from scrambling.
