This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait – Optimism. The dictionary defines optimism as a disposition or tendency to look on the more favorable side of events or conditions and to expect the most favorable outcome. It is the belief that good ultimately predominates. Optimism has been proven to improve the immune system, prevent chronic disease, and help people cope with unfortunate news. We are Respectful
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the character trait- Respect. Respect is a way of treating or thinking about something or someone. If you respect your teacher, you admire him/her and treat him/her well. People respect others who are impressive for any reason, such as being in authority — like a teacher or police officer — or being an elder — like a grandparent. Trait of the Month: Mindfulness
Each month students will be exposed to one character trait, which will be defined, modeled and analyzed in characters, leadership, and everyday application. This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Mindfulness. Mindfulness is being in the present moment. We are teaching students to be mindful and present in their interactions in class by being active listeners. Students should also be mindful of directions, completing assignments to the bests of their ability, and checking over work. Welcome to Lincoln!!!
Welcome back to an exciting 2017-2018 school year! School opens for all students on Thursday, September 7th (It's a full day). Throughout the summer many teachers came to school and prepared your classrooms to make them exciting and welcoming. Mr. Peeples and the custodial staff worked diligently to get our school organized, clean, and ready for you. The first day of school will certainly be a very exciting event for the all of us.
