Research shows that students who have a large number of absences in the first few years of school are significantly more likely to be below grade level by the end of the third grade and also be behind their peers in social and emotional development as well. EARLY DISMISSAL DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event that a decision is made to close school early prior to the start of the day because of inclement weather, dismissal will be as follows: Kindergarten - 12:45 p.m. Grades 1–3 - 12:30 p.m. No lunch will be provided on early dismissal days. Third Grade Book Club
Thanks to a grant by the Rutherford Education Foundation, Lincoln School will be hosting Lunch Bunch Book Club for students in grade three. Here’s how it will work. Students will receive a book one month prior to the meeting. Meetings will be listed on the Google calendar. On the day of the meeting, we will enjoy some lunch together, while discussing the books that we read. I cannot think of a better way to spend lunch! Students in the Book Club will have an opportunity to discuss books with their friends, Mr. Giordano or me. Lincoln Woods Update
As the first phase of the trails nears completion, the landscape contractor has made great progress. In order to prepare the ground for excavation, trails were marked and a 6-8” layer of wood chips were placed on top of the prepared ground to make the area safe. The Shade Tree Committee then added temporary demarcation roping to make the trails visible. It’s about that time again...time for the Ghouls & Goblins to roam at Lincoln School! We have a few helpful hints to make sure that our upcoming Halloween parade is fun & safe.
