As discussed on Back to School Night, Lincoln School will be hosting “Phonics Parent Training” for all first grade parents. This will take place on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 8:00am to 8:45am in the Library. Bulb Planting
The PTA purchased tulip, crocus and daffodil bulbs for each student in our school. Students planted these bulbs at the end of October with the intention of beautifying our school in the spring. Teachers turned this into a learning opportunity by teaching about bulbs, needs of plants and some elements that may cause our bulbs not to sprout. Students needed to measure the depth of the holes and distances between the bulbs. Some students giggled when they discovered a worm or learned to use a trowel for the first time. Halloween!
It’s about that time again...time for the Ghouls & Goblins to roam at Lincoln School! We have a few helpful hints to make sure that our upcoming Halloween parade is fun & safe! Lincoln School Grades 1-3: If possible, have children go home for lunch to change into their costumes. Please return the permission slip to the teacher by Monday, October 26th. This will eliminate the need to sign out your children in the main office if they do go home for lunch. Students will exit out the afternoon DISMISSAL doors. Week of Respect
The Week of Respect is October 6-10. During the month of October, Lincoln School students will learn about, and celebrate, acts of kindness to others. Students will participate in specific activities to demonstrate respect for each other. Ms. Huzzy, our student assistance counselor, will visit classrooms during month. Pierrepont’s “Friends of Rachael Challenge” will also visit Lincoln School to discuss how Pierrepont students show kindness and will encourage our students to pledge an act of kindness!
