The Correlation Between Absences and Learning-
Research shows that students who have a large number of absences in the first few years of school are significantly more likely to be below grade level by the end of the third grade and also be behind their peers in social and emotional development as well. This gap continues to widen as the child continues on in their school career. It is imperative that children are in school to collaborate and learn from their peers and teachers. During the week of January 23rd, students will participate in the Great Kindness Challenge. Students will challenge themselves to perform as many kind deeds as they can in one week. Students will receive a checklist with suggestions listed. Each day we will participate in activities to promote kindness. Report Cards Issued December 16th
Report Cards will be sent home on December 16th. Please use this as an opportunity to celebrate your child’s accomplishments, growth, and work habits. Parents may also want to discuss goals for the next trimester. Students should write these goals on a piece of paper and display it in a prominent area. This will also model the trait, wisdom.
