This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- Love. Love is a variety of feelings, attitudes and emotions. The dictionary lists love as a noun and a verb. It is a strong feeling of affection for another person -- such as you love your parents, grandparents, brother or sister, an intense emotional attachment to something,-- such as your pet or a treasured object, or a need or requirement for life --such as plants love the sun. The Correlation Between Absences and Learning-
Research shows that students who have a large number of absences in the first few years of school are significantly more likely to be below grade level by the end of the third grade and also be behind their peers in social and emotional development as well. This gap continues to widen as the child continues on in their school career. It is imperative that children are in school to collaborate and learn from their peers and teachers. During the week of January 23rd, students will participate in the Great Kindness Challenge. Students will challenge themselves to perform as many kind deeds as they can in one week.
