Ms. Monochello's reading class read a non-fiction book today about seeds and planted some seeds in egg shells. Trait of the Month- Fairness
This month Lincoln School is focusing on the hard character trait- fairness. Fairness is demonstrating impartial, unbiased, and equitable treatment of others. You give up personal interests, prejudice and favoritism. Fairness is defined by some as little more than “playing by the rules” and not taking advantage of others. It is challenging to learn how to handle it when life isn’t always fair!! Week of Respect Acknowledged
The Week of Respect is October 1-5. During the month of October, Lincoln School students will learn about, and celebrate, acts of kindness to others. Students will participate in specific activities to demonstrate respect for each other. Ms. Bregman, our Student Assistance Counselor, will visit classrooms during the month to discuss various topics. Yoga Program
We started our yoga program today. Six classes received a short yoga practice guided by one of our instructors. Next week the other six homerooms attend. Students seemed to enjoy the practice and welcomed the instructor back for another year. There is a parent workshop on mindfulness at Pierrepont School on October 24th from 7-8 pm. September Reflections
The students are settling into their new routines and procedures. Even the preschoolers seem to feel comfortable in their new learning environment. The morning drop off appears to be running smoothly as parents are not parking in the lane and/or exiting the cars. Your cooperation is appreciated!
