Ms. Janine Smith delighted her speech students, as well as anyone who saw her that day, when she dressed as a blue dreidel. Ms. Valente’s class finished a unit on Hanukkah. A student brought in a menorah he made in Hebrew School and explained how his family lights it, as well as why he put certain symbols on the base. Another student who also celebrates Hanukkah helped demonstrate. The first grades explored the customs surrounding Las Posadas, the nine-day Mexican celebration from December 16-24th. Second graders have been learning how to code with our tiny ozobot robots. The robots respond to thick lines; either black, red, green, or blue. Giving Tree Benefits Rescue Dogs
The PTA organized donations from Lincoln families this month for an animal shelter, Brick City Rescue. Students placed items under our Giving Tree in the main foyer of the school. Mrs. Williams, a parent and Brick City Rescue volunteer, along with other trainer/volunteers brought “Turtle,” the pit bull, to do a “meet and greet” today. Turtle walked our hallways thanking the students for their generosity. This was a valuable lesson for our children to think of our community organizations during this holiday season.
