Dear Rutherford School Community, I am saddened to share with you the information that today there was a tragic accident in the Borough resulting in the death of one of our High School students and injuries to three other students. Mr. Richard Byrnes
Rutherford High School chemistry teacher Richard Byrnes has spent 14 years with the district. He has served as a leader, mentor, and key member of Rutherford High School’s STEM program/curriculum and was named Teacher of the Year in 2015. He is looking forward to catching up on some reading (a lot of it!) during his retirement as well spending more time with his family and volunteering in his community.
